Smoke DZA has been a stickler for consistency for many years, and whether he’s putting out projects with his R.F.C. collective or dropping his own solo gems, we’ve come to expect solid efforts from the Harlem native.

Cue up his newest release, He Has Risen, which is produced by Harry Fraud, and it appears that trend will continue. DZA connects with his long-time collaborator and fellow New York native for a relatively brief 9-track opus, including a guest appearance from Snoop Dogg. This marks the first time Fraud and DZA get together for a full-length project since 2012’s Rugby Thompson, which was also released as a retail project.

This isn’t all we’re getting from DZA this year, either. Pete Rock revealed the title of his and DZA’s joint LP earlier this week, Don’t Smoke Rock, which will hopefully drop this summer, and DZA and Wale are expected to put out a joint project at some point this year as well.
