While Onry Ozzborn might not be a household name quite yet, 2016 could be the year that changes. The Seattle-based emcee, who is signed to independent Hip Hop label Fake Four, Inc., recently announced a new album, Duo, which is due for release March 25. The album features a different collaborator on all 17-tracks, including Aesop Rock on “Nineteen,” Kimya Dawson of The Moldy Peaches on “Neonerd” and Sadistik on “My First Kill.”

In anticipation of the album, Onry Ozzborn and camp unleashed a 15-minute short film on February 25. Simply titled duofilm, it stars Aesop Rock, Rob Sonic, Kimya Dawson, Sadistik, P.O.S. of Doomtree, and more. The film depicts Ozzborn going through his day, taking care of his two children with various friends of his stopping by for conversation, one by one revealing their character. At one point, a masked man armed with a gun breaks into his house and a fight ensues. The intensity of the soundtrack then increases until it eventually (and seamlessly) winds back down into Rob Sonic and Aesop Rock’s segments. Considering they’re all friends, the film came together rather organically.

“The film was shot in seven hours, at one house, with nearly every guest appearance from the album being involved in the film,” Ozzborn tells The Source. “It’s very rare to see a visual version of an album made. It was not created to act as a promotional tool of sorts leading up to the album release, but rather a version of the album in itself to act and take a life of its own.”
