Stephen Curry has had an unbelievable season, and he’ll be named the regular season MVP for the second consecutive year at the end of the season. However, he may have a serious competitor in the ridiculous shot category: Damian Lillard.

Respectively, Lillard is also having an absurd season (26 points, 7 assists, 4 rebounds per game), and it comes in the most important year of his career. After losing the best players on the Blazers roster–Wes Matthews, Nicolas Batum, LaMarcus Aldridge–to free agency, Lillard decided to remain loyal to Portland and sign a $120 million extension. Most though the Trailblazers would spend the next couple years rebuilding. So much for that. The Blazers will likely qualify for a Western Conference playoff spot this year. If Curry wasn’t having such a ridiculous year, Lillard would get this writer’s MVP vote.

What makes Lillard and Curry’s silent battle even more interesting is the last time the Warriors lost a game, it was against Lillard’s Blazers, and it really wasn’t close. Dame Dolla dropped 51 points in a 32-point victory over the Dubs, and since then, he’s been on a tear, destined to prove that those responsible for his All-Star snub made a big mistake.

The above video clip is a casual half-court shot from Lillard in another 50-point performance (the Blazers lost by 2, unfortunately) from last night, which is becoming the norm for the Weber State alum. Let’s see if Curry one-up’s that against the Lakers on Sunday.
