Kendrick Lamar surprise-released a new album, untitled unmastered., digitally this past Friday, and it appears that the method of release won’t be restricted to just Apple Music and Spotify. According to TDE CEO Anthony Tiffith‘s cryptic Twitter account, we’ll be receiving physical copies of Lamar’s second consecutive March release some time this week, meaning Kendrick’s could see enjoyable sales marks for yet another week if CDs are in stores by Friday.

untitled unmastered. is billed as an unreleased set of demos from Kendrick’s To Pimp a Butterfly studio sessions, and features recordings dated as far back as 2014. Guest appearances include Cee-Lo Green and Jay Rock, and several of the songs were performed live during various television engagements, including Kendrick’s two recent appearances on Stephen Colbert‘s late night talk shows, and his infamous GRAMMYs performance.

As previously mentioned, 2016 looks to be a big one for TDE, and while Kendrick came out of nowhere, fans are fully expecting new albums from ScHoolboy Q, Ab-Soul, SZA and Isaiah Rashad very soon.
