Another day, another disturbing bit of news concerning comedian Katt Williams.
In the last 10 days, Williams has been accused of holding five women at gunpoint and robbing them of their phones, punching a store clerk and submitting himself for arrest in a bewildering manner, and attacking a man on stage at a Beanie Sigel show, leading to his being jumped shortly after. All in all, it’s been a turbulent past couple of years for the Cincinnati native, including suspicions of heavy drug use and mental illness, but he’s never consistently been in this much legal trouble. Today, Katt Williams finds himself behind bars once again.
According to a NY Daily News report, Williams beat down one of his own bodyguards–Corey Dixon–when he refused to “engage in criminal activity as directed by Williams” late last month. The bodyguard was taken to Williams’ house, where he was beaten with a baseball bat by the comedian and a 24-year-old co-hort, Tatiana Smith. Williams then threatened to kill the bodyguard. According to the News, this attack took place on the same day as Williams’ bout with five women on an Atlanta sidewalk, when he allegedly robbed them of their cell phones at gunpoint (he was handcuffed, but not taken into custody after that incident).
Williams was booked on charges of aggravated assault, false imprisonment and terroristic threats, and an executed search warrant at his Gainesville home produced marijuana and several firearms. Williams has been behind bars since yesterday afternoon, and we’ll update this story when developments are made available.
