Rumors of the existence of an OVO collaboration album have intensified over the past few days, and they were confirmed earlier today by ILoveMakonnen, a 2014 signee to Drake‘s OVO Sound label.
During a sit-down with HuffPostLive, Makonnen, who is currently prepping his Drink More Water 6 project for a March 18 release, talked briefly about his current working relationship with Drake before being asked about the circulating rumors. Makonnen was hesitant to reveal many details about the project, but quickly said “it exists,” and added that we’ll just have to “see when it comes out.” He later added that the album could drop in “maybe October,” but judging by the smug grin on his face, the “Sellin” rapper may have just been toying with the month his label is named after.
In the interim, Drake will release his fourth solo LP, Views From The 6, next month, and full-length releases from OVO artists PARTYNEXTDOOR and Makonnen, who has yet to release his proper debut album, are expected. Makonnen has said that he’s worked with Rihanna, Diplo, Kanye West and more on his debut album.
