The Motor City has produced many great MCs over the years. One who has been on a rise to fame since his 2004 debut, Black Milk, is set to release his latest project since 2014’s EP, Glitches in the Break.
Known for his lyrical dexterity and clever wordplay, Black Milk made his biggest claim to fame working with Slum Village and the late J Dilla, and has consistently dropped projects and features since. Recently releasing “The Rebel” single from the upcoming project The Rebellion Sessions, the sound defies current trends and brings the fans a natural feel musically.
Backed by his touring band and featuring Nat Turner, one of Detroit’s favorite MCs delivers a project hinged on live production, pertinent wordplay and Milk’s ability to fit the groove of the track with realism.
The first leak from The Rebellion Sessions is proof Black Milk is staying true to his form and audience, Milk delivers with insightful rhymes about the police and surviving the urban condition. The upcoming project will be a 10-track release with all the production performed live and it drops April 4.
