Since 2013’s “Control,” it’s been believed that no one really wants it with Kendrick Lamar, and for good reason. I mean, the guy pretty much called out every elite rapper in the business, and they had nary a reply for the 7-time Grammy winner. So kudos to this guy for getting in K. Dot’s face, and prompting a hilarious, albeit brief, rap battle.
As part of his campaign with Reebok–he is one of the brand’s ambassadors, and he’s recently been helping to promote their new-and-improved Reebok Classic shoe–Kendrick traveled to England to surprise-host a Hip Hop workshop for 40 young musicians in Manchester. The pupils were extremely pleasantly surprised to see one of the best rappers alive waltz into the unassuming session, and everything from the aforementioned battle to an impromptu cypher followed, making for some truly enjoyable video footage.
Kendrick’s got reason to be all smiles. His surprise 8-track album, untitled unmastered., debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 this week.
