From Spring 2013 to Fall 2014, PARTYNEXTDOOR was on an undeniable hitting streak. The inaugural signee to Drake‘s OVO Sound record label released three projects during that span–PARTYNEXTDOOR, PARTYNEXTDOOR TWO, PNDCOLOURS–and helped usher in a lo-fi, drug-influenced, ambient brand of R&B. Though it was clearly inspired by The Weeknd, PND’s music was significantly more fringe, and relied more on his heavy, oft-self-produced 808’s-driven instrumentals and cutting-edge songwriting than his vocals.

Though he hasn’t released a project since 2014’s COLOURS, PND has found a way to keep busy, producing several tracks on Drake’s If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late, and being the primary songwriter on Rihanna‘s latest #1 smash, “Work,” which has reigned atop the Billboard Hot 100 for the last four weeks. Finally, however, the Toronto rep is beginning the roll-out for his new album, which is being pegged P3 for now (likely short for PARTYNEXTDOOR THREE). We don’t have a release date yet, but shortly after his pop-up performance at SxSW last night, he droppd a new single featuring Drake, titled “Come and See Me,” produced by Noah “40” Shebib.
