It feels like it was only yesterday when LeBron James was drafted, or when he did his famous “No Regard For Human Life” dunk on Kevin Garnett in 2008. Or, when he scored 45 points against the Boston Celtics (you get the idea).

James has been in the league for a long time and at the tender age of 31, he has already surpassed Dominique Wilkins as the-now twelfth leading scorer on the NBA’s most points scored list. He surpassed Wilkins in the first quarter on an and-one lay-up against the Brooklyn Nets to push him past Wilkins 26,668 career total altogether. James finished the game with 24 points.

Before the game,  James commented on approaching Wilkins spot on the list.

Via ESPN:

“I’ve been very durable throughout my career and I’ve played with some great teammates and two great organizations through all my career that allowed me to put the ball in the basket,” James said after shootaround Thursday morning when asked about approaching Wilkins on the list.

“They’ve set screens for me, they gave me passes in transition, they’ve set me up offensively, and I’ve been able to come through for my teammates, so this results in that being the case.”

The Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Brooklyn Nets 107-87 Thursday, March 31.
