Going into this year’s upcoming offseason, Kevin Durant will be available on the free agency market and nearly every team will be angling for his services. The Houston Rockets are taking a proactive approach as they have tasked his former teammate James Harden to recruit him to the franchise. Along with the possibility of reuniting with Harden, the team will also pitch him on not having to pay a state income tax in Texas, as well as increasing his level of exposure by playing in a bigger market.
The biggest sell though is to convince Durant that he has the best possibility of winning a championship in Houston, something that has eluded him his entire career. With the team looking to part ways with Dwight Howard, there will certainly be enough cap space to satisfy a max contract, which KD’s talent level definitely demands.
