New Balance, an american heritage brand still today one of the premier names in footwear, has announced its first 3D-Printed running sneaker is dropping this week. In November, the brand made light of their plans to enter the printed shoe market following demonstrations from Nike and adidas. The sneakers, titled the “Zante Generate,” will be available later this week.

Using an innovative elasomatric powder and DuraForm Flex technology developed by 3D Systems, the midsole of the sneaker flexes and that combines, customized products are set a never before seen precedent in the industry. The Zante Generate, limited at its initial release to 44 pairs and priced at $400, the sneakers are testing the waters for those intrigued by the cutting  edge.
