While out promoting her new film Barbershop 3: The Next Cut, pitbull in a skirt Eve discussed working with Nicki Minaj.

“It was good honestly [working with Nicki] because you never know”, Eve said. “You know what I’m saying especially females together, women can be catty but honestly she was so sweet and really cool. She was really professional and it was nice, nice to see her in a different light.”

Eve also discussed her marriage and also states that although she’s “comfortable”, she’s still very much Eve from Philly.

“Marriage for me is totally different,” Eve continued. “I am a very independent woman, so when we have arguments-which is normally when I’ve been drinking-and I forget that I can’t just leave the house and be like ‘I’m out!’. Like I forget and have those moments then wake up and be like ‘Hey baby’.”

Eve also discussed her first encounter with Mike Tyson, when she recalls he approached her saying “I’m going to f*ck the sh*t outta you.”

“I remember I was like I’m only 17,” Eve said laughing, “But Kiss and them was like you may have to take one for the team (laughs) because that’s Mike Tyson and that’s when he was biting people’s ear off.”

In regards to being overlooked when Hip Hop fans are naming their top 10 lists, Eve said she “doesn’t think about it.”

“I appreciate everyone who goes hard for me,” Eve said. “But personally I don’t think about it. For me I’m always trying to better myself and do bigger things. The people who follow me and my career make it to where honestly, I don’t feel forgotten.”

In regards to a new project, Eve said that music is definitely in the works and coming soon.

“I’m about to start working on new music soon and it will be independent as well,” Eve revealed. “Music is my life and my first love and I feel like I wouldn’t be in these other worlds if it wasn’t for music, so I have to always show it respect.”
