Word around town is real rap is on the way.” Twenty-two year old Ivy Sole sends her warning shot to Hip Hop on her debut EP, EDEN. Balancing duality as a singer and rapper, Sole bares it all over indie beats and soulful samples, covering the Alicia Keys classic, “You Don’t Know My Name.”

The Charlotte native and UPenn graduate unveils a melodic soundscape that takes you on a lyrical journey into Ivy’s proverbial garden. Using a production style reminiscent of boom bap’s “hey day” with a twist, Sole combines her love of storytelling, indie rock, and soul to create a familiar, yet distinct style all her own. Featuring production from CS~W, Xander Chief, J. Roosevelt, DJ Bejoure and Sole herself, EDEN is a journey through the concept of paradise lost and coming to terms with it.

With an endorsement by rap superstar Kendrick Lamar, Ivy Sole’s vow to give this game her all remains true as she embodies a southern hustler’s mentality, also making music in a collective known as Indigold.
