It’s a disappointing weekend for Stateside Grime fans who were looking forward to British artist Skepta gracing the stage, because his work visa has been denied, leaving him unable to fly to America and perform at Coachella.

The Boy Better Know founder took to Twitter to inform his fans. He tweeted, “Love to everybody that wanted to see me on tour this month, my U.S visa has been denied and I am not allowed in America right now,” the star wrote on Twitter last night [April 15].

As positive as ever, he added: “still taking forward steps and forever working with God. Brb,” which he wrote in an Instagram post. Although it is only Coachella that Skepta had to cancel so far, he had several other US tour dates booked in for April and May, which are now under threat.

With an new album out on May 6 called Konnichiwa,  the Grime MC revealed to Zane Lowe on Apple Music  that Pharrell will feature on the album. He explained, “Pharrell loves music. I don’t know how much money he has, or how much he’s trying to make. But I know whatever financial situation he’s in, his music is always going to be sick. When I’m in the studio with him, it’s like I’m working with someone I’ve known all my life.”

The album, which is available for pre-order right now, features his smash hit, “Shutdown” and new song “Man.”
