Earlier this week Chris Brown tweeted the trailer to “Welcome to my Life: The Official Chris Brown Documentary” which features him talking about the aftermath of assaulting Rihanna.

Even though the singer proved irritable when asked about the subject in the past, it’s been seven years since the incident and he’s speaking on it now.

Within the trailer he said, “I went from being on top of the world, number one songs, being kind of like America’s sweetheart to being Public Enemy No. 1.”

In 2009 Brown pleaded guilty to assaulting Rihanna on the night on the Grammys. He says the entire fallout in the public’s eye destroyed him. Brown said even his health declined and he was only focused on getting high.

“I was thinking about suicide and everything else,” Brown said.

After the incident Brown continued to make charting music and major headlines, but had a lot of police run-ins. He even faced threats of being banned from other countries (he’s currently disallowed to enter Australia and New Zealand) due to his domestic violence situation,
