The last time you saw the names Denzel Washington, Antoine Fuqua and Ethan Hawke tripled together, it was likely in reference to Training Day, the classic 2001 cop thriller that saw Denzel, portraying a dirty police officer attempting to serve far too many street masters, win his first and only Academy Award. Since then, Fuqua (Brooklyn’s Finest, Olympus Has Fallen, Southpaw) and Hawke (Before Midnight, Boyhood) have each experienced considerable success, but 15 years later, they’ve decided to get back in the saddle. Judging by the trailer, Hollywood will be better off for it.

The Magnificent Seven drops this September, and will also star Chris Pratt, the dinosaur wrangler that helped last year’s Jurassic World movie shatter box office records. Denzel, inspired by the desperate pleas of a woman who has seen her community slain, rounds up a group of 7 guys–himself included–for a classic shoot ’em up quest for revenge.
