Meek Mill is currently on house arrest, during which he’s allowed to drop strictly free music, meaning any retail projects, be it a streaming mixtape or an album for sale, are on hold at least until June, when his case will be re-evaluated by the court.

It’s a frustrating proposition for Meek Mill fans, especially when he previews songs like “Trust Me,” which features Chris Brown and Rick Ross on Instagram. Meek declared that he couldn’t release the song for free when he posted a couple clips of it to his Instagram–and why should he? The lineup itself flaunts hit potential–so for now, fans will have to settle for the prospect of forthcoming Meek Mill music, or his freestyles, which are, quite frankly, the more legal option for Meek right now.

Trust me. Ft . @chrisbrownofficial @richforever #dc4 I can’t drop this shit for free ? #another1

Meek tagged the preview with #DC4, which is interesting considering his Dreamchasers series thus far has been a trilogy of free mixtapes. If this song is in fact going to be on DC4 and Meek doesn’t want to release it for free, there’s a chance Dreamchasers 4 is the first of the mixtape series to be released via retail, or at least streaming services. Time will tell, but considering this and Meek’s “Panda”/”Summer Sixteen” freestyle, we’re going to be hearing a lot of the Philadelphia rapper should his house arrest limitations be lifted this June.
