The lockdown Panthers cornerback, who became a very high profile defender after his infamous battle with Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. during a thrilling regular season game this past season, is now an unrestricted free agent after the Panthers reneged on their franchise tagging of the All-Pro corner. In a brief statement, Panthers GM Dave Gettleman cited the two sides’ inability to reach a long-term deal as the reason for the shocking move, which places one of the most coveted defensive talents in the league on the open market.

Last year, Norman returned two of his four interceptions for touchdowns, and forced three fumbles to go along with his 48 tackles. There will be no shortage of teams willing to throw large bucketloads of money at Norman, who is entering just his fourth season as a pro.
