This morning [Wednesday, April 27] the New York City Police Department and federal authorities raided more than 100 locations in and around the Eastchester Gardens NYCHA housing complex in Williamsbridge, the Bronx in the biggest (and most surprising) gang bust in the city’s history.

According to officials, authorities arrested around 100 Bronx gang members responsible for numerous murders including the slaughtering of a 92-year-old woman. The suspects are affiliated with 2Fly YGz and the Big Money Bosses, rival gangs wreaking havoc over disputed territory.

Authorities had search warrants for over 120 suspects. Sixty out of the 100 members taken into custody are expected to face criminal charges in federal court for a line of detrimental crimes, including seven counts of manslaughter police said.

According to the Daily News, the NYPD became friends with the members on Facebook before busting them in the Bronx. The charging documents were severe enough to mark this the largest take down in city history.
