It’s been a great success for Rihanna and Drake to kick off 2016, but also for PARTYNEXTDOOR, Drake’s inaugural signee to OVO Sound. PND penned the record and brought it to Drake, who put a verse on the song before it was brought to Rihanna, who instantly loved it and, just like that, nine weeks at the top.

Rih has been pretty up front with the fact that PND was the pen behind the hit, releasing behind-the-scenes footage of the two in the studio working on the record, and gifting PND with classic Playboy issues as “Work” continued to rack up wins at Billboard. Today, however, we finally get to hear PND’s original demo, which features a Drake verse that’s slightly different than the one that made the final cut.
