Beyoncé’s Lemonade is a visual masterpiece, which describes a journey from despair to restoration. On the album, the superstar delivers diversity and range as she conquers R&B, reggae-pop fusion and even country.
Country Music Television (CMT) poised the question, “What’s so country about Beyoncé?” while referencing her song “Daddy Lessons” from the recent project, claiming the song can’t be country without Tennessee influence. Beyoncé’s influence, however, came from her Texas roots, as well as from New Orleans.
Nevertheless, to lay the argument to rest, the American country music band, Dixie Chicks covered the song at their show last night [Saturday, April 30]. According to the Idolator, the country stars performed at England’s Manchester Arena, just ahead of this summer’s North American reunion tour.
