The water contaminated with lead, a deadly neurotoxin has caused severe ailments to many men, women, and children in Flint. Yesterday [Tuesday, May 3] President Obama made a daring statement by drinking a glass of filtered water from the Flint water source in a press conference. “Filtered water is safe, and it works,” Obama said. “Working with the state and the city, filters are now available for everyone in the city.”

During the briefing President Obama revealed that filters would be available for everyone in Flint. “I will not rest and I’m going to make sure that the leaders at every level of government don’t rest until every drop of water that flows to your homes is safe to drink and safe to cook with and safe to bathe in.” There is a new bill that will be presented to Senate that aims at getting a $220 million aide package as well as a bill that will produce water related projects across the country. Until then, the people of Flint are left with hopes that their request for fair living conditions gets answered.
