In 2010 Dee was named Artist of the Year at the NOLA Underground Hip Hop Awards and after a deep mixtape campaign, also toured with the likes of Macklemore, Lecrae and Murs before signing to RCA in 2014.

The song “Against Us” features uplifting lyrics defending his Christianity, morals and not “prostituting my soul for dollar bills.” K.R.I.T. delivers memorable rhymes reflecting on the struggles of the urban condition following the theme of the song. Lupe shows off some new braids in the video, and drops bars like “At 17 I had a set of wings/ now I’m selling dreams like I’m selling lean,” early on while switching up his style later to deliver a distinct rhyme pattern.
