Earlier today, Jennifer Lopez released a music video for her song “Ain’t Your Mama”. This is her first song since returning to Epic Records last month. For now the song stands as a single, but Lopez may be announcing a new album soon, since her last project, A.K.A, was released two years ago in 2014.

The video spans several decades, with J-Lo portraying women from each era. In the 1950s, she dresses up as a doting house wife that is reminiscent of an I Love Lucy character. In the 1960s, Lopez is dressed as a woman straight out of Mad Men, having to listen to her boss while he drones on about business.

In the 1970s, she is working on an assembly line in an all-denim outfit. Rosie the Riveter much? Then for the 1980s, Lopez dons a deep blue suit skirt and walks all over her male co-workers. To cap it off, Lopez appears in the modern day, in a full dance scene, with an all white outfit, with amazing blue boots that nearly come up to her waist.

The song’s message is about Lopez’s frustration with the wage gap between men and women. She portrays a tired news anchor to begin the music video who has had enough with the men in her life taking her for granted. She speaks out to the other women she portrays in the video, saying:

“Look I don’t have to tell you things are bad. / Everybody knows things are bad. / Taken for granted, ignored, overlooked, under-appreciated. / We have a big, big problem ladies!”
