Beyoncé was welcomed to her hometown, Houston, TX, to a sold-out show of fans waiting to see her on tour—but of course there was some controversy to go along with the concert.
There have been rumblings among police officers who didn’t take too kindly to Bey’s “Formation” video, specifically the part where she sinks the police car. A number of Houston cops took her message of anti-police brutality and interpreted it as she was anti-police, so a few of HPD’s officers decided to protest outside of the venue where the concert was being held.
Via 11 HOU: “Some of her performances we believe to be anti-police,” said Tony Ragsdale, who is a member of the Pasadena Police Department and of the Coalition for Police and Sheriffs (C.O.P.S.).”
