After slightly hinting at the release of a new project last week, Verse Simmonds finally releases his new song titled “Never Get Enough,” while also dropping the music video on the same day. In his new song, Simmonds sings about the temptation he has with women solely because of their more than willing personas that never turn him down. It seems that if they won’t turn him down he sure won’t be the one rejecting the ladies either. But the struggle comes from the fact that he already has the perfect woman to call his own but he still just can’t get enough of his many options.
Simmonds announced the release of his “Never Get Enough” video on Instagram yesterday [Monday, May 9] while also announcing its availability on Soundcloud as well. Simmonds went on to explain that “Never Get Enough” includes interpolations of Prince’s hit song “When Doves Cry,” but in fact was recorded before the passing of Prince.
Simmonds stated, “We wanted to release this video two weeks ago but due to the timing of Prince’s passing we found it to be more appropriate to wait as we didn’t want it to appear that we released it around his death for exposure purposes rather than real reason: inspiration and love of the original record.”
The video was directed by SLASH who also directed Simmonds “Situationships” video, as well as Future’s song “Ride.” Watch the video below.
