Soulja Boy has been making some extreme power moves of late, although that’s no surprise being it’s always been his forte. He received writing credits on Beyoncé’s new album Lemonade and even released his own album back in March, titled Stacks on Deck. But most recently Soulja Boy teased us with some quick facts about him signing a $400 million dollar deal and simply leaving the rest to our imaginations. We got no word of who the deal was with or what it was even for, but we were indeed excited for Soulja Boy and even more ecstatic about finding out the rest of the details.

Today [Friday, May 13] Soulja Boy took to Instagram to let us know he’s now part of the FilmOnTV team with Alki David. Film On is a free internet streaming service that allows viewers to watch local television via the computer, with over 600 free live television channels and approximately 45,000 movies, tv shows, and documentaries.

Although FilmOn is a television streaming service they’re not strangers to signing rap artists, as they signed Chief Keef at the beginning of 2015. Unfortunately, the Chief Keef and FilmOn business relationship did not last for very long. Chief Keef’s contract with FilmOn was suspended in November 2015 due to contract violations such as Keef going on tour without FilmOn’s approval and music decisions made without the approval of the FilmOn team.

Furthermore, it is uncertain in what capacity Soulja Boy is taking part in the FilmOn team and if in fact, the FilmOn deal is the $400 million deal he hinted at earlier this month. We’re anxious to continue to connect the dots and see what FilmOn and Soulja Boy have up their sleeves for us.
