Earlier this week, Fat Joe made an appearance on ESPN’s Highly Questionable and put the rumors to rest regarding which New York Knicks player Notorious B.I.G. was referring to on his song, “I Got A Story To Tell,” revealing that it was the recently deceased Anthony Mason. Speaking with HipHopWired, Joe said that he now regrets the admission, thinking that it was already common knowledge.

“I regret saying that. See, I knew about it…[but] I don’t know if it was my place to say that. I ain’t taking nothing back, it is what it is. I’m just saying I don’t know if it was my place to say that.”

Speaking on Mason, Joe shared:

“The whole time he played in New York we [were] partying in the clubs together. Me and Charles Oakley, everybody. I love Anthony Mason, man, He’s as real as it get. He’s a respectable guy. Rest in peace. I was f*cked up when Ant Mason died. When I did the interview, it slipped. I didn’t realize nobody else knew. I thought everybody knew.”
