The Source: What’s the recording process like for you two in the studio?

BBOD: Each studio session is different depending on the mood or the beat. We feed off of each other’s energy and sometimes we invite our close friends to the studio and we have a mini party. It’s good to have fun in the studio. That’s when the best songs come out.

What is the goal for the album?

We are currently working on our EP. It’s called Reality Check. It’s pretty much ready for release. We are just tying up some loose knots. We are also putting together a promo tour to promote the EP and our brand. So look out for that ASAP. Our EP will drop July 1st.

Do you feel like this is your year to to make it mainstream?

This year has been a blessing for BBOD and we treat every year like it’s our year to make it mainstream. Hopefully, 2016 will be our year. We grind and work everyday like it’s our last.

How has the show influenced your music or your connection to your audience?

Since the platform from the show, we [BBOD] are known almost worldwide. There’s hasn’t been a state that we have touched that we were not recognized, which is a blessing. Our fans have increased tremendously and the love is surreal.

Who are some of your rap influences?

Salt and Pepa, Drake, Nicki Minaj, Queen Latifah, Lauryn Hill, Eve, Lil Kim, Foxy [Brown], Jay Z, Biggie, Future, and Fetty Wap.

What do you think is your signature sound?

We have a versatile sound. We can give you a lyrical rap song, an R&B groove, or even a pop feel.

What influences your personal style?

No one really influences our personal style. We dress how we feel that day and call each other to coordinate as a group

What’s next in the near future?

In the near future, we will be in movies, have our own female based record label, own non profit organization, and so much more. Our dreams are endless and we aim to accomplish all of them.
