This week, Fox unveiled the first trailer for Lee Daniels‘ highly anticipated new show. Co-created with Tom Donaghy (best known for The Whole Truth), Star tells the story of three talented singers who hope to hit it big.
Newcomers Jude Demorest, Ryan Destiny and Brittany O’Grady play the girl group members in the Atlanta set show. Viewers can watch as the ladies navigate the cut throat world of entertainment.
Demorest plays Star, who was separated from her family at a young age and moves from foster home to foster home. She eventually reconnects with her godmother, who is played by Queen Latifah. Benjamin Bratt plays their manager and hopes to help the band hit it big, but may not have the best intentions with the girls.
Star features a soundtrack of original music and impressive music performances. Lenny Kravitz, who previously worked with Daniels on The Butler and Precious, also guest stars on the show.
