The milestone achievement was just one of a string of accomplishment for Drake during a blistering month of May, in which he set the record for the most simultaneous Billboard Hot 100 placements, and passed Elvis for second-most all time Hot 100 hits. His fourth studio album, Views, debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200, and moved over 1 million equivalent units in its first week, the best one-week Drake performance ever

Despite his massive commercial success, “One Dance” is just the first #1 hit of Drake’s career. He’s made admirable charges at the top spot before, with his breakout hit “Best I Ever Had,” and more recently “Hotline Bling,” whose ascent was interrupted by Adele‘s sudden return. Also, thanks to the perseverance of Rihanna‘s “Work” single, which originally dropped in January, Drake currently has two Top 10 entries on the Hot 100.
