Meek Mill is currently in the final stages of a 3-month house arrest bid that’s put a hold on his highly-anticipated Dreamchasers 4 mixtape and all public appearances. Luckily, it hasn’t stopped the Philadelphia emcee from getting studio work in.
Fat Joe and Remy Ma‘s “All The Way Up” single received a paradigm-shifting face-lift last night from none other than Jay Z, and it’s been completely re-worked by Meek and Fabolous, who unleashed their version of the burgeoning hit this afternoon. Meek leads off, and he wastes no time zeroing in on his perennial foe, Drake. After borrowing the Toronto rapper’s “6 man” line to big-up his friend, Thunder guard Dion Waiters, Meek continues with a clear shot, “If you ain’t write it, don’t record it / I don’t know how they get down across the border.”
Zing.
Fabolous brings in the rear with an enjoyable verse of his own, somehow managing to reference Kyrie Irving without bringing either Kehlani or PARTYNEXTDOOR into it, opting instead to hit us with a clever line about Irving’s alter-ego, Uncle Drew. Well done, sir.
