Last year, the dab dance originating out of Atlanta took the world by storm. First infiltrating the sports world, with MVP quarterback Cam Newton using it as a touchdown celebration, the dance eventually spread to people from all walks of life. Migos have long laid claim to inventing the maneuver, even going as far releasing a song named after it, “Look At My Dab.” Yesterday, (May 24), fellow Atlanta rapper and Young Thug affiliate Peewee Longway took to his Twitter account and gave the world a piece of his mind, claiming that he is in fact the originator of the dab, while also saying that he was the first to coin the phrase “pipe it up.” Which is the name of a popular Migos song and one of the often used ad-libs.

Longway has since deleted the tweet, but not before the Internet had its fair share of screenshots to capture the evidence.

Not one to take anything lightly, Offset of Migos took to his Instagram, posting a photo of himself with his middle fingers up with a caption that read:

“CLAIMING WORDS AINT HELPING CAREERS OR CLAIMING DA DAB SHIIT LAME MAKE A HIT N*GGA”
