Def Jam Records experimented with the concept of pairing and duos this year, dropping Jhene Aiko and Big Sean‘s TWENTY88 album, and pushing out an LP by another potent duo, 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne, who dubbed themselves Collegrove and released an album by the same name. Boasting solo 2 Chainz hits like “Watch Out” and popular duo records like “Bounce,” Collegrove made an impressive debut on the Billboard 200 at #4 the week of its release.
Today, the Collegrove duo drops a video for one of the few songs fans were treated to before the actual release of the album. Outside of a live performance of “Rolls Royce Weather Everyday,” “Gotta Lotta” was fans’ first introduction to Collegrove, which makes it quite fitting that it gets its own music video.
