The rapper, who has a strong legacy of using his platform to voice his opinions on the societal issues African Americans face, delivered the bars earlier today [May 31, 2016]. Common, who is is set to release his eleventh album this year, spoke on its production in April in an interview with Kelly & Michael. “I’m so excited,” he revealed. “I’m working on a new project, a new music project with this great, talented producer named Karriem Riggins. Man, I just feel good about the music. And Robert Glasper, who’s a great musician, pianist. I’m working with them. I’m just excited about it.”

Common speaks on just about everything that’s wrong with America’s stereotypical views on African Americans. He pulls on the listeners heartstrings mentioning the school to prison pipeline, Trayvon Martin and gentrification.
