Issa Rae is the brain and hilarious inspiration behind the ABG series that touched the hearts and souls of Black girls across the web. For years HBO was rumored to premiere a spin-off version of the anecdotal series. Three years after talks of HBO joining forces with Rae, the deal is more official than a whistle. Rae is known for bringing the funny while keeping it painfully real and we’re almost sure the series will instantly become a fan favorite. Rae is reeling in those awkward eyes to the big screen at just 31 years old. Rae is a graduate of Stanford University and the New York Film Academy.
