Pop star Katy Perry holds the honor of having the most Twitter followers out of any notable person in the world, coming in at an astounding 89 million followers. Late last night (May 30), her followers got to see a very different side of Perry, or so they thought. After some rather odd tweets were sent out from her account, it was quickly apparent that Perry’s account had been compromised, with tweets such as “otf gang ni**a!” and “shoutout 1 and r breh” being sent out.
The culprit probably outted themselves with a tweet that read “haha follow @sw4ylol #hackersgonnahack.” Upon visiting said page, there are only a handful of tweets, along with a SoundCloud link. Of course, Katy Perry has since regained control of her account and deleted those tweets. One goes through the trouble of hacking the account of the most popular person on Twitter and uses it to send out a SoundCloud link, Smh.
