Smith, an analyst on TNT’s Inside the NBA, hosted the Coors Light “Full Court reFRESH” panel on Wednesday [June 1], alongside a celebrity and community leader panel: Ronnie Fields, Chicago basketball legend, Dee Brown, University of Illinois’ Director of Player Development and Bryan Crawford, basketball journalist. The panel discussed the program that helps enhance community basketball courts across the country. This year, Coors Light and the Chicago Urban League will refurbish a basketball court located at Columbus Park on Chicago’s west side.

2 Chainz, known for his love of basketball aside from his music, talked how refurbishing abandoned basketball courts in urban cities can help make a change.

“Putting a recording studio in a school or fixing a basketball court can change the trajectory of these neighborhoods. It’s about spreading love and spreading positive vibes.”

Using the power of social media, each tweet including the hashtag #FullCourtreFRESH, will add a one dollar donation, up to $25,000, to the community program.

After the panel, Full Court reFRESH, in conjunction with Coors Light, gifted a $40,000 check to the Metropolitan Board of the Chicago Urban League.

The Columbus Park court will be upgraded mid-June.
