Earlier this year, it was revealed that newly retired Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch has not spent any of the $50 million he has earned from his NFL contracts, opting instead to spend money he accrued via endorsements. Apparently, Lynch’s financial literacy is so on point that his former teammates have even approached him about assisting their 401k plans.

This past week, bay area rapper Mistah F.A.B., who is Lynch’s first cousin, has been making his rounds promoting his new project Son of a Pimp 2, and during each interview, he was asked whether or not his cousin would ever consider returning to football, to which he sternly told The Breakfast Club, “He’s done.” Moreover, on a recent episode of XXL’s Ante Up Podcast, Mistah F.A.B. double down on his Marshawn Lynch stories, going as far as saying that the reason why his cousin has that much money in the bank is because is very frugal.

“He lives like he’s broke. He still lives like, ‘Cuz, let me get $10.’ ‘Oooh, $10? Cuz, I don’t know. I don’t got it right now. How much is them? Oooh, $40? No, let me get the $15 ones.’ Like, that’s how he is. You’ll be like, ‘Bro, are you serious?’ Like, we’ll go out to eat or go somewhere and he’ll be like, ‘How much is the whomp whomp? Oooh, hell no! $60? Oh no, no. Let me get the $25 one right there, though, the one on the side of it. Yup, that one’s good!’ I’m like, ‘Cuz, you are a cheap ass hoe, bro.’ That’s just how he is. You learn to love him.”

F.A.B. does go on to share that his tight spending habits are actual a good thing, and has even begun to rub off on him.

“It’s a beauty because he shows us how to save money, how to keep things going, and he’s a symbol of hope for us.”
