The first installment of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise brought in $4.6 million from the previews and went on to earn $65.6 million upon its debut. It eventually took in $493.2 million in worldwide sales.

The Hollywood Reporter projects the sequel will pull in around $35-40 million dollars this weekend, which is a decent number compared to the first movie. It will most likely beat out X-Men: Apocalypse, which debuted last weekend, for the top spot this weekend.
