In usual Kanye West style, he put New York City in frenzy last night [Sunday, June 5].

Mr. West took to his Twitter account to announce a pop-up show at Webstar Hall due to the cancellation of the Governor’s Ball because of weather conditions (where he was supposed to be a headliner). Earlier that day, West and his G.O.O.D music crew made a surprise appearance at HOT 97’s annual Summer Jam. Virgil Abloh, Kanye’s best friend and creative director was quite the bomb-dropper, posting the set list which revealed that Kanye would make an appearance at Summer Jam and also teased a 2am pop-show from Kanye without any further details (which was promptly deleted).

An estimated 4,000 people flooded the streets of NYC at 2am Monday morning for this secret show, but because there was way too many people, the performance had to be canceled and the NYPD had to come shut the scene down to get things in order. Kids were everywhere, on tops of cars, trucks, anywhere they could fit to get a glimpse or even attempt to slide their way into Webstar Hall. People even began to vandalize and one woman was supposedly arrest for displaying disorderly conduct.

Webster Hall tweeted from their official account: “There is no late show at Webster Hall tonight. Please get home safely.”

Yeezy’s wife Kim Kardashian West took to Snapchat to keep everyone updated on the pending secret show. In a video she showed her husband on the phone negotiating, saying “”Either call the mayor and shut down the block about four streets… so they can have a party outside. I know it’s sold out already.”

But of course, West isn’t one to disappoint his fans. Yeezus himself made an appearance outside of Webster Hall, standing out of a sunroof while his fans mobbed behind him. Another day in the life of Pablo.
