Ross, a seasoned veteran with ties to rap gods like Kanye West, Jay Z and Dr. Dre, hustled alongside Philly street rapper Meek Mill and poet laureate Wale, who came into the industry on the shoulders of an internet-driven “hipster” movement. Though it seemed like an awkward combination, Ross, Meek and Wale experienced immense success, from #1 albums to Grammy nominations, and it wasn’t long before they were putting out album’s as a group–newer signees included–titled Self Made.

5 years after the first Self Made was released, MMG is prepping their new album, Self Made 4, and they’ve invoked that original trio for its first single, “Make It Work.” The collaboration couldn’t come at a better time for the group, whose infallibility has been called into question in recent months given Wale and Meek Mill’s treacherous relationship. However, Wale promised that everything was peaceful between him and Meek during a recent Breakfast Club interview, and this song could be proof of that.
