Unlike any other female artist, Keys took the stage with a simple set: two keyboards, three microphones, a beat pad and a guitar. Her set proved to be immaculate as she created the music for her new song “In Common” live on stage. There’s only one other person who has had such a simple, yet creative set and that is Mr. Kanye West himself. Dressed in dark clothing and a sparkling orange bomber jacket, Keys drew plenty of attention as she strummed away at her guitar and keyed at her keyboard. She gradually added more sounds to the performance resulting in the performance of the full song.

“In Common” was recently released and is set to be part of her upcoming studio album to be released later this fall. Keys revealed another song from the album, “Hallelujah” which she performed on Saturday Night Live a little over a month ago. Although Keys has not been on the music scene since her last album Girl on Fire in 2012, she has been steadfast at work. Along with being a mother, she has been working on new music and the film Let Me In, which features the artist as the main character and her song “Hallelujah” in the film trailer.
