We’re about a week away from the release of ScHoolboy Q‘s sophomore major label album, Blank Face LP, preceded by the singles “Groovy Tony” and “THat Part.”
It’s been a long two years for SBQ fans, who haven’t received a full-length project from the TDE rapper since his major label debut in February of 2014, Oxymoron. Q doesn’t have a habit of dropping free mixtapes or EPs in between album cycles, and save a handful of features, hadn’t been heard from in quite some time.
Well, now he’s everywhere, and for good reason. “THat Part” is quickly one of the early summer hits of the year, helped along by Kanye West‘s high-octane unpredictability. To help celebrate that, Stephen Colbert invited Q to perform the riot-starter live on his The Late Show post, and Q obliged (sans Yeezy, but with a live band to boot.)
