The timeless film has now been turned into a musical. Hip Hop’s very own MC Lyte took to Instagram and announced the production will premiere in the fall.
The line-up of artists in the cast is insane. From Marsha Ambrosius to Musiq Soulchild, their rendition of the classic movie will be music to our ears.
The movie is coming up on its 20th anniversary next year [2017]. Tate stopped by Power 105.1 in April and discussed the movie, as well as his other projects. He spoke on how there’s been talks of a sequel and how he and Nia Long are all for it—it just has to be the “right” script.
Such an epic movie; you think they can make the musical just as amazing? Looks like we’ll have to wait and see.
