Bringing his talents to the Essence Festival stage this year [Saturday, July 2], Common debuted his latest single, “Love Star.”
The Chicago rapper performed the single from his upcoming untitled album to an energetic crowd at the New Orleans Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Making it his eleventh studio album, Common promises fans the new body of work will be released in September.
Along with the single debut, the artist performed such classics as “The Light,” “Go” and more.

Beyond Common, Mariah Carey, Diddy, French Montana, Kendrick Lamar, Kehlani and Ciara were some of the performers who graced the stage at this year’s Essence Festival, as well.
