“I called Mikey and realized nothing would feel better than us being the originators again,” Chuck wrote on Twitter. “The hiatus is over. We missed being us. We refuse to let people down and not be the actual group. We been through too much.”

Sir Michael Rocks responded to Chuck’s tweets, confirming the reunion with “I’M READY.”

The duo claimed to be ending their hiatus in 2014, with Chuck Inglish even announcing an album titled Shark Week that never came to fruition. And just last year Mikey stated The Cool Kids would never return. But this time the return seems legit as a press release has been issued.

“We really felt like we hadn’t really finished what we started,” the rapper said. “They took our styles and ran off. We coming back for it all. Once I drop this album I just finished… We go to work ASAP. And Boldy is free. Everything is lining up.”

According to Chuck, he and Mikey will get back to work once he finishes his solo album. The duo has not released a project together since their 2011 studio album, When Fish Ride Bicycles. Read Chuck’s tweets below.
