Kevin Garnett, 40 years old, has been in the NBA for 21 years now, 22 if he continues his legacy with the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2016-2017 season. But Garnett’s decision is up in the air at the moment and there’s no telling what he’ll do.

Kobe Bryant and Tim Duncan both hung up their NBA jerseys at the end of the 2015-2016 season. Garnett came in the league in 1995, Bryant came in 1996, and Duncan in 1997. It wouldn’t come as a surprise if Garnett decided to retire. The game is much faster and he’s not getting any younger. However, he has ambitious goals set up for this season: he wants to get his team to the playoffs.

“He’s a little torn, I think,” Hall of Fame guard Reggie Miller said. “It’s the age-old question of mind over matter. I’m sure his mind is telling him he’s able to play. But can his body follow?”

It’s a question Garnett may be asking himself. It’s not just his knees that he questions, it’s his entire legs, as he told owner of the T-Wolves,  Glen Taylor.

“So I asked the question but I didn’t get an answer that helped me. Yes, theoretically, he’d like to play. But he has some doubts of his knees holding up. I believe he told me exactly the truth.”

Head Coach  Tom Thibodeau is giving Garnett as much time as he needs to make his decision, but that decision has to come before training camp begins. Hopefully a definitive answer is given from Garnett soon.
