Police investigator Robert Heimberger said the terrorist portion of the investigation is being shut down. Munich police president Hubertus Andrae described the evening’s massacre as a “classic shooting rampage.” After searching the shooter’s parents’ apartment for evidence, they did find a handful of clues.

Heimberger said that the teen hacked a Facebook account, then sending out a message for people to come to the shopping mall for a free giveaway. Hacking a woman’s page, the message read “I’ll give you something if you want, but not too expensive.” It wasn’t long before the woman reported that her account was indeed hacked.

Holding 300 rounds, a 9mm Glock pistol was the shooter’s weapon of choice to kill 27 and injure nine, before killing himself. Articles about school shootings and a book titled “Why Pupils Shoot” was also found by police. Police say they believe the shooter was in therapy for mental health problems.
